23. Colleges

You need to input the colleges you are applying to so that schools can get a copy of your FAFSA to compile a financial aid award.

How To Answer These Questions

You simply enter the Federal School Code for your college. Most colleges list this on their financial aid website. For example, you can see Harvard's school code here.

You can also find the Federal School Code list here.

You can add up to 20 schools. If you need to add a new school, you'll have to replace an existing school if you go over 20.

You can add or delete schools after you submit your FAFSA.

🚨 School Order May Matter 🚨

It sounds odd, but some states have requirements for the order you list your schools. While there is no impact to Federal student aid, this could impact state-based aid. Make sure you check the StudentAid.gov/order for details.

Can I Skip These Questions?

No, they are required.
