What Is Valore?

Valore is an online textbook marketplace that allows you to buy, sell, or rent a wide range of books at lower prices than buying new. It's known for its flexible rental timeframes and free shipping on rental returns and when you sell books through its platform.

Valore also runs the textbook section of Chegg.

What Does It Offer?

Here's a closer look at the services Valore offers:

Rent Or Buy Textbooks

You can save money by purchasing or renting textbooks through ValoreBooks. Valore offers flexible rental periods that include 90 days and 180 days, in case you need a book for the entire semester. It also offers free return shipping.

Here's how the process works, step-by-step:

  1. Find your book by ISBN, title, or author, using Valore's online search function.
  2. Select the book you want. If you are buying, you can choose between a physical book and an eTextbook.
  3. If you are renting, select your preferred rental duration.
  4. Add the book to your shopping cart.
  5. Complete your purchase. Note that standard shipping is free.
  6. Once you've completed your purchase, you'll receive a confirmation email from Valore.

You have the option to extend your book rental by an additional 15 days. All you need to do is log in to your account's "Order Details" page, and there is an option to extend.

Sell Your Old Books

In addition to buying or renting textbooks, ValoreBooks provides a marketplace where you can sell your used books. And it's not just for textbooks; you can sell novels, biographies, non-fiction books, you name it. Furthermore, when you sell books, Valore will provide you with a free shipping label, enabling you to ship your books at no additional cost. You can receive payment in one of two ways: via PayPal or a check in the mail.

What to Know:

  • Sell your used textbooks, novels, biographies, non-fiction books, and more online
  • Ship your books within 7 days of receiving your quote
  • Prepaid shipping labels expire after 10 days
  • ValoreBooks has an online marketplace with hundreds of potential buyers
  • Receive payment within 2-14 business days, depending on the payment method
  • Books deemed unusable are not eligible for Sellback
  • International, Teacher/Annotated Instructor’s, or sample editions are not currently eligible for Sellback.

Are There Any Fees?

There are no fees to have a ValoreBooks account. Of course, you will pay to purchase or rent books at varying prices. Standard shipping is free; however, additional fees apply for expedited shipping.

How Does Valore Books Compare?

ValoreBooks is one of several online textbook rental marketplaces. One name that many are familiar with is Amazon. Amazon is the largest textbook marketplace online.

CampusBooks is a popular textbook rental company, with policies that are similar to Valore's, including free shipping and an option to sell your books. One difference is that Valore offers a broader book rental window of up to 180 days, while CampusBooks standard period is up to 150 days.

How Do I Open An Account?

You can open a free account on Valore's website. You'll be asked to provide your email and create a password. Once your account is open, you can track all of your orders and contact Valore's customer service team if you need assistance.

Is It Safe And Secure?

Valore is a well-established online marketplace for buying and selling textbooks, and it should be considered a safe platform to use. Valore has an "Average" customer service review rating of 3.6 out of 5 stars on TrustPilot.com, based on 135 reviews.

How Do I Contact Valore?

You can reach out to ValoreBooks via an online contact form. You can also text them at (501) 382-7159.

Is It Worth It?

ValoreBooks could be well worth it if you are looking to save money on textbooks. And as a large, well-established marketplace, they can be a great option if you're looking to make money by selling your old books. We appreciate that they offer flexible rental periods, options to extend rentals, and free shipping on both rental returns and book sales. That said, don't assume that Valore's prices are the lowest you can find. Before you buy or rent, shop for duplicate titles on other online marketplaces, such as CampusBooks or even Amazon.
