I took the time to play around with both to see which one I thought was best. For me there was definitely a clear winner.
But before we get to that let’s take a look, showdown style, at which site has the best features.
Free Credit Scores: Both
After answering a series of questions and confirming your identity both sites will pull up their version of your credit score. However, I had a hard time confirming my identity with Quizzle, but more on that later.
Free Credit Report: Both
It had been awhile since I had logged into my Credit Karma account. I assumed that nothing had changed and there was no free credit report. I was wrong.
Credit Karma is now offering a credit report. This is beta testing so it’s hard to say if it’s around for good.
Quizzle also offers a credit report every six months which is directly advertised on their site when you sign up.
Financial Offers Based on Your Credit Score: Both Offer – Credit Karma is Better
One of the things I love about Credit Karma is that it can calculate the potential credit card rewards you earn based on your current spending. You can also move your spending number up and down to get a customized estimate. I think this makes Credit Karma a pretty good place to go to find the best reward credit card for you, if you’re into that type of thing.
Among the credit card offers Credit Karma also shows you the best auto and mortgage loan rates you qualify for based on your credit score.
Quizzle also offers you the best credit card, home loan, and auto matches although I didn’t think they did this in a very appealing way. Instead of just laying everything out for you, you have to click on “my offers” browse through and click on “see my recommendations.”
I prefer the way Credit Karma lays everything out, with the best deals at the top.
Best Interface: Definitely Credit Karma
Old habits die hard. I’ve been using Credit Karma from the get go and I’m like a loyal dog. So for me the answer is Credit Karma.
That doesn’t you’ll necessarily think Credit Karma is the best. Like I said, I’m biased.
They’re both free so you can try them both out and see which you like the best. BUT I did have one major issue with Quizzle. Okay, I lied. I have two major issues with Quizzle.
First off, when I went to sign up I never received a confirmation link and therefore couldn’t create an account. I tried four different times before clicking the “get started” button at the top right hand corner.
Secondly, Quizzle couldn’t confirm my identity. Which is weird considering I put the address I’ve been at for the past two years AND the address I lived at for the previous seven years. There was no customer service to contact to get this straightened out. I was basically just SOL. This was the message I got.
So in order to really check Quizzle out I had to create an account for my boyfriend. (Whose identity was validated, thankfully.)
Credit Score Accuracy – Who Knows?
The credit scores among the two programs were pretty far off. And if I’d have to guess I’d say that Quizzle is closer to accurate.
Here was the verdict:
And the Winner is…..
Both of these programs work in the same way. They give you free credit scores and credit reports at completely no cost in hopes that that you click through one of their affiliate links to get some type of loan, credit card, or insurance. They help you, you take their advice, and they get paid at no cost to you.
Let’s be real. They’re both good services.
But since these companies are so similar I’d say you’ll have to check both out for yourself to see which on clicks with you.
Which do you prefer – Credit Karma or Quizzle?
