Here's how to correctly enter any special circumstances information for the CSS Profile®.

Special Circumstances

The CSS profile allows you to share special circumstances of additional information that may have an ongoing impact to your family.

How To Answer These Questions

Select the appropriate box and enter the information. When you select any of the special circumstances, a text box will appear and you can enter a detailed explanation. This is your time to share specific details and numbers that could explain your financial situation better.

The information you enter will be provided to all the colleges you send the CSS Profile to.

The colleges may request additional information based on your answers. If requested, this will be done via the IDOC portal.

  • Exceptional medical or dental expenses
  • Eldercare of financial support of other family members
  • Non-recurring income or expenses
  • Other
  • None
