MaxRewards is a credit rewards management app that uses AI and automation to recommend the best credit cards for different purchases, track your rewards, monitor your statement credits and benefits, and combine everything into a single dashboard. If you're serious about getting the most from your credit card rewards and benefits, MaxRewards may be worth considering.

What Is MaxRewards?

MaxRewards is a fintech app designed to help you get more value from your credit cards by tracking rewards, benefits, spending, and account information all in one app. The Atlanta-based company was founded by Anik Khan and David Gao, who wanted to make it easier to keep track of credit card rewards and maximize available perks across multiple cards. According to MaxRewards, the company boasts over 900,000 users and supports 90% of credit cards.

What Does It Offer?

Here's a closer look at what you get when you sign up with MaxRewards:

Best Card Recommendations (Free)

If you have multiple rewards credit cards, it can be difficult to remember which one earns the most rewards for a particular purchase. For example, one of your reward cards might pay you bonus cash back for gasoline purchases, while another one might have a higher rate for restaurants or grocery purchases. MaxRewards analyzes your card's reward rates and recommends the best card to use for each transaction. This makes it easier to maximize the points, miles, or cash back you earn without having to memorize each card's bonus categories.

Spending Insights And Transaction Tracking (Free)

After you connect your credit card accounts, MaxRewards will automatically import your transactions into its dashboard. The app will then categorize your spending and keep track of the rewards you've earned. This makes it easy for you to monitor your balances, your bills, and your account activity across all of your credit cards.

Automatic Offer Activation (Gold)

Many credit cards make you manually activate merchant offers before you can earn bonus rewards. If you subscribe to a MaxRewards Gold subscription, the app will automatically activate these offers on your behalf. This feature also tracks expiration dates, which ensures that you won't miss limited-time offers or bonus points.

Benefits and Welcome Bonus Tracking (Gold)

Most premium rewards credit cards include various perks and sign-up bonuses, in addition to the rewards points. MaxRewards Gold monitors these benefits and sends reminders before they expire. This makes it easier for you to take full advantage of everything your credit card has to offer.

MaxRewards Platinum

MaxRewards Platinum is a premium plan designed for freelancers, self-employed individuals, and small business owners who want to track their business expenses and personal credit card rewards in one place. In addition to all of the Gold features, Platinum members unlock receipt scanning and matching, custom business expense categories, CSV imports, and tools that help you organize your deductible expenses.

Are There Any Fees?

MaxRewards is completely free to use, or you can choose from two premium subscriptions, Gold and Platinum. With MaxRewards Gold, you get auto-activation of offers, consolidated benefits, bonus trackers, and more. Platinum gives you all the features of Gold, as well as spend profiles, business expense categories, and receipt management. Both plans use "pay-what-you-want" pricing, with a minimum of $9/month for Gold, and $20/month for Platinum.

How Does Max Rewards Compare?

MaxRewards is similar to competing apps like Kudos and CardPointers. However, each takes a slightly different approach. Kudos focuses on recommending the best card to use at checkout and helping you discover new card opportunities. CardPointers helps you maximize your card benefits, track offers, and manage your bonus categories. MaxRewards seems to fall somewhere in the middle by combining card recommendations with spending insights, rewards tracking, and automatic offer activation.

If you're looking for the most comprehensive solution to credit card management, in our opinion, MaxRewards has more to offer. That said, a MaxRewards Platinum subscription, which unlocks all of its features, is the priciest option among the three apps, so you'll need to take that into account.

How Do I Open An Account?

To get started with MaxRewards, download the app for iOS or Android, create an account with your email address, then securely connect your credit cards. Once your accounts are linked, MaxRewards will automatically import your card information, including your rewards balances and transactions. This will allow you to track benefits, activate offers, and receive personalized recommendations from MaxRewards.

Is MaxRewards Safe To Use?

Yes, MaxRewards should be considered safe to use. The company employs industry-standard encryption to keep your personal information safe. More specifically, it uses two separate keys to encrypt your credentials, with each key being stored with a different cloud provider.

How Do I Contact MaxRewards?

Contact options for MaxRewards are limited to email. If you need help, you can contact customer support at [email protected]. The company does not provide telephone or chat support options.

Is It Worth It?

If you regularly use multiple rewards credit cards and you want to maximize your points without a lot of effort, then paying for MaxRewards Gold or Platinum may be worth the cost. By combining features such as credit card recommendations, rewards tracking, and automatic offer activation, it can help you save time and get more value from your credit cards.

However, if you use only one or two credit cards or aren't interested in paying for MaxRewards' extra features, the free plan may be all you need. If you just want a simple tool to help you choose the best card for each purchase, check out Kudos. Ultimately, the right choice will come down to how actively you manage your credit card rewards.
