Scholarships360 is a free platform that connects students with scholarships to help them fund their college education.

Student loans can help cover the cost of going to college, but billions of dollars each year are awarded to students in the form of scholarships. Unlike student loans, scholarships provide free money that you don’t have to pay back.

A
scholarship search database can make it easier to find scholarships you’re eligible for. In this article, we’ll review Scholarships360, how it works, and what you need to know to get started.

What Is Scholarships360?

Scholarships360 is an online scholarship database that matches students with open scholarship applications. This gives students the chance to fund their education by applying to verified scholarships from nonprofits and companies.

In addition to scholarships, Scholarships360 also provides resources on how to plan for college and avoid going into debt. This includes general information about things like student loans and the college admissions process.

The company was founded back in 2010 by brothers Will and Brian Geiger. They recognized there wasn’t a central place for students to easily search for scholarships. Back then, if you wanted to apply you’d have to look up each scholarship opportunity individually. This wasn’t very efficient so they decided to create a platform students could use to find scholarships.

How Does It Work?

Students log onto Scholarships360 and can begin searching for scholarships. You don’t need to create an account to search for scholarships, but if you do, Scholarships360 will collect background information from you to provide personalized matches.

Scholarships are sorted by award amount, deadline, and grade level. There are also special categories such as scholarships for women, and grad students, and no-essay scholarships.

Once you find a scholarship you want to apply for, verify your eligibility. Select ‘Apply’ to begin the application process.

Are There Any Fees?

There is no cost to use Scholarships360. The platform is 100% free. In 2021, Scholarships360 raised $250,000 in pre-seed funding from investors to continue growing the platform.

How Does Scholarships360 Compare?

Scholarships360 isn’t the only college scholarship search website available. Here are a couple of comparable tools tools students can choose from.

Scholarships.com

Scholarships.com was founded in 1998 and is one of the largest scholarship databases available for students to get funding from. Like Scholarship360, Scholarships.com is free and also offers resources about the financial aid process. Scholarships.com is a bit older and its website isn't as user-friendly as other scholarship databases.

Fastweb

Founded in 1995, Fastweb is the oldest online scholarship database in the U.S. It offers resources on financial aid and applying for college in addition to scholarships. It is free for students but is powered by advertisements. Similar to Scholarships360’s data-driven approach, Fastweb also matches students based on personal attributes like declared major or demographic information.
