What Is Avibra?

The founder, Yogesh Shetty, wanted to create an app that taught people how to live a healthy life with life insurance rewards. With that, Avibra was launched in 2018 to provide no-cost life insurance protection through a wellness app.

Life insurance is a topic that is often avoided. After all, it's incredibly uncomfortable to consider the possibility of what would happen to our dependents if you passed away. Plus, you likely have countless other things that offer sanctification and enjoyment while you're living that you'd prefer to spend your money on than life insurance premiums.

But obtaining life insurance is an important financial planning step that most of us should take. And Avibra can help you take that step by allowing to secure life insurance coverage at no financial cost to you. But you'll need to engage with the well-being content in the app to earn your coverage.

Avibra app

What Does It Offer?

Avibra provides a no-cost life insurance opportunity for 18- to 64-year-olds. Here’s what the company has to offer.

Instant No-Cost Life Insurance Without Medical Test

One of the most annoying steps in obtaining life insurance can be the medical test you must undergo to finalize the policy. But if you work with Avibra, you won’t have to deal with any medical exams. The app provides no-cost insurance without any type of underwriting.

That’s especially great news for anyone that wants to avoid any blood work. All you have to do is sign up with Avibra to start earning instant coverage. From there, you will build your coverage with healthy choices. Currently, you can earn up to $15,000 of life life and AD&D protection.

Well-Being Wednesdays

When you download most apps, the entire goal of the developers is to entice you to spend as much time on the app as possible. But Avibra is different. The company puts an emphasis on less screentime for your mental health.

Instead of constantly sending you notifications to check in with the app, you’ll only be encouraged to pop in to Avibra on well-being Wednesdays. At that point, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your insurance coverage by participating in an activity that promotes wellness.

Avibra's well-being content includes things like guided mediation, laughter yoga, brain teasers, allow you to plant trees and help families - each of these activities rewards you in $10 of coverage. That's how you rack up your rewards. You must check in monthly and complete at least 1 of these tasks to keep your coverage active.

Dollar Benefits Store

Through the Dollar Benefits Store, you can purchase a variety of benefits for $1 per week for each choice.

The $1/week benefits are divided into three categories: Protection, Financial, and Well-Being. Here's the list of benefits that are available now or are coming soon:

Low Coverage Limits

Wondering how in the world Avibra can offer the same amount of insurance for free that other insurers charge $30 to $100 per month for? It's because it doesn't. With Avibra, you can earn up to $15,000 of life and AD&D coverage.

That's one-fifth to one-tenth the amount of the minimum coverage amount that many other top insurers offer. For example, Bestow's minimum coverage amount is $50,000 and Fabric's is $100,000. But with Avibra, you start at $0 and earn your way up.

Keep in mind that most financial experts recommend getting enough life insurance to cover 6 to 10 times your annual income. But for many people, Avibra's base insurance coverage amount won't ever cover a full month of income.

Avibra can be a good starting point if you don't have any life insurance whatsoever. If you're able to earn up to the full $15,000, that could certainly help to cover end-of-life expenses. However, the policies are no where close to being large enough to provide long-term income to your survivors.

Are There Any Fees?

You can use Avibra to earn no-cost life insurance.

As previously mentioned, you’ll have the option to buy extra benefits through the Dollar Benefits Store for $1 per week. But you don’t have to pay for any of these benefits to earn life insurance through Avibra.

How Does Avibra Compare?

Due to its low coverage amounts, it's clear that Avibra can't provide multi-year protection of your income like traditional life insurance policies offer. However, obtaining one of Avibra's no-cost policies could provide the peace of mind that your survivors will receive enough money at your passing to cover your end-of-life expenses.

Once you're ready to purchase a more significant amount of life insurance,  we recommend that you shop rates at multiple life insurance companies. Note that many of the best insurers today can offer instant coverage without requiring a medical exam. Here's a quick look at how Avibra compares to two of these top companies.

How Do I Open An Account?

The process starts by downloading the Avibra app to your phone. You’ll need to create an account with your email address, password, name, birthday, gender, and zip code to get started.

From there, Avibra will ask you a series of questions about your health and lifestyle. These include any health diagnoses, your height, weight, employment status, and the frequency of your tobacco use.

Finally, you'll need to verify your phone number to complete the process. That’s it - you’re in!

Is It Safe And Secure?

Avibra life insurance policies are underwritten by Amalgamated Life Insurance Company and Life of the South Insurance Company. These companies are respectively rated as ‘A’ and ‘A-’ by A.M Best. With that, the policies offered are financially solid.

Avibra also has an extensive Privacy Policy in place that specifically states that they will not ‘sell, lease, or rent your personal information to anyone.’ But Avibra may provide the information to third-party contractors that they work with.

How Do I Contact Avibra?

If you need to get in contact with Avibra, you can email hello@avibra.com or benefits@avibra.com. Additionally, you can reach out via Facebook or Twitter @AvibraLife. Or through Instagram @avibra.

If you choose to download the app, you will likely have a positive experience. Avibra has earned 4.9 out of 5 stars in the Apple App Store and 4.7 stars out of 5 in the Google Play Store.

Is It Worth It?

Avibra offers the opportunity to enjoy no-cost life insurance. You won’t have to spend too much time on the app to access the no-cost life insurance. But you’ll have to decide if the engagement that's required to keep your insurance coverage is worth it.

If you decide that you want a more robust and hands-off life insurance option, that’s okay! There are plenty of affordable life insurance opportunities out there. You can check out our favorites today.
