First Tech Federal Credit Union STEM Scholarship Opening Soon
Offered by First Technology Federal Credit Union
About This Scholarship
First Tech Federal Credit Union — the technology-industry credit union that recently merged with Digital Federal Credit Union — awards twelve $5,000 scholarships each year to members pursuing STEM education. Ten scholarships go to student members planning a STEM-focused major or trade, and two are reserved for family members of First Tech employees.
The program stands out for its breadth: there is no age requirement, and students at all levels of study can apply — high school seniors, undergraduates, graduate students, and trade school students alike, enrolled full time or part time at an accredited institution. Recent winners range from machinist students at technical colleges to medical school matriculants. Applicants need a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA.
Applicants must hold their own First Tech membership in good standing by the application deadline — a parent's account is not enough. Applications for the 2026-2027 program are accepted from December 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027.
