GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program Opening Soon
Offered by Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation
About This Scholarship
The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship awards $10,000 a year, renewable for up to three additional years — $40,000 total — to high school seniors who embody the four attributes the program screens for: leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship. It's jointly funded by GE Aerospace and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute.
The program is small and highly competitive. Since launching in 2011 it has awarded about $9.42 million to 236 students from 42 states — roughly 10 to 11 new recipients a year in recent classes, per the Foundation's own announcements. Applicants need at least a 3.0 GPA, U.S. citizenship, and plans to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year U.S. college.
The cycle runs through the winter: the application opens in the fall and closes in early January, semifinalists submit additional materials in mid-March, virtual interviews follow in April, and recipients are notified by April 30. With only about ten winners nationwide, this belongs in the reach column of any scholarship list — but the $40,000 payoff justifies the effort for students with a genuinely strong record of service and leadership.
