TopCashBack
TopCashBack Review

TopCashBack is a cash back platform that will pay you a commission for shopping through their website or app.

TopCashback launched in 2005 in the UK and expanded to the USA in 2011. Since then, they’ve garnered amazing traction and now partner with over 7,000 online retailers.

They’re also available to shoppers in China, India, Japan and Germany. How does TopCashBack compare to other shopping rewards apps? In this full review, we explain how it works, key features, and pros and cons.

What Is TopCashBack?

TopCashBack is an online rewards platform with over 20 million users worldwide. The company, which has been in business since 2005,  pays you ash back rewards when you shop at featured retailers through its website and mobile app. These retailers pay TopCashBack a commission when you make a purchase, who pass along 100% of that commission to you.

TopCashBack is free to use. The company makes money through sponsored ads and promotions, as well as bonuses paid to them from retailers if they send them a large number of sales.

What Does It Offer?

TopCashBack partners with thousands of popular brands to bring cash back rewards to its members. You can redeem your earnings as a bank account deposit, via PayPal, or gift cards. Here's a closer look at the platform's key features.

Earn Cash Back

Once you sign up through TopCashback, you can browse and shop in over 4000 stores including popular online marketplaces like eBay, Walmart, Amazon and Best Buy. However, you don't have to visit the TopCashBack website or app to shop.

You can also install a Chrome or Safari browser extension and get notified of cash back offers directly through your browser or app so you don’t miss out on any money you deserve.

While writing this article, I browsed the latest offers on the TopCashBack website (see image below), and noticed cash back rates as high as 25%, though many offers fall between 5% and 10%

Score The Best Coupons And Deals

In addition to earning cashback, you can also use TopCashback to find coupons and deals for your favorite stores. They offer coupon codes and in-store coupons as well.

For example, at the time of writing, I noticed a coupon for 30% off your first order of contact lenses from 1-800 Contacts, as well as up to 75% online tax filing through TaxSlayer.

If you're already shopping and earning cashback, getting a coupon or deal on your purchase will take your savings further.

Broad Selection Of Shopping Categories

Just about every spending category you can think of is covered through the TopCashback app or browser extension. You can shop for groceries, clothing, electronics, home and garden supplies, and much more through the app.

No matter what you need to buy, there's a good chance that TopCashback has a retail partner that is willing to give you cash back for the purchases you make.

Flexible Cash Back Rewards

Most cash back programs only offer you a fraction of their earnings. TopCashback, on the other hand, pays you 100% of the commission it earns from its partners.

Unlike other cashback programs, there are no minimum thresholds you have to reach before you can request a payout from TopCashback.

You also get more payout options. While many programs only offer PayPal deposit, with TopCashback you can also get your money via Direct Deposit or cash it out as a gift card - including Amazon, Walmart and Target.

What Are Users Saying About TopCashback?

As of this writing, TopCashback has over 13,000 reviews on TrustPilot. Out of that number, it has a 4.6 out of 5 star review, making it "Excellent". This reflects very well on TopCashback.

The one complaint that was common in the reviews was that the dashboard took a while to update with the cash back earned. The reason this may happen is because after a purchase through their app or browser extension, cash back websites have to verify the purchase before they can issue cashback.

However, while it may take a few days for earnings to show up in your account, TopCashBack will eventually deliver. It's a legitimate cashback platform that will pay you the cash back you earn for purchases made through them.

Are There Any Fees?

Like most rewards apps and get-paid-to sites, TopCashBack is completely free to use.

How Does TopCashBack Compare?

TopCashBack has many competitors, with Rakuten being one of the biggest. TopCashback has more retail partners than Rakuten (7,000 versus 3,500). Rakuten also currently has a $5.01 minimum payout while TopCashback has no payout restrictions.

We do like the look and feel of Rakuten's website, and like TopCashBack, you can also use a browser extension to find deals. If you’re looking for cashback programs that reward you for doing online tasks, Swagbucks or Inbox Dollars may be better options. Or, check out our full list of the best survey and reward sites.

How Do I Open An Account?

You can install TopCashback as a browser extension on both Google Chrome and Firebox, or download it as an app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

After installing the app or extension, you'll be required to sign up for an account. Once you sign up, you’re ready to start shopping and earning cashback!

How Do I Contact TopCashBack?

Like most cash back platforms, customer support options are limited. There is no phone number to call or email address, but you can reach out to TopCashBack via an online contact form on its website. There is an FAQ section on its site for answers to most questions.

Is TopCashBackLegit?

TopCashBack is a legit rewards platform. It has over 7,000 retail partners and has been in business since 2005. Its mobile app has over 100,000 downloads in the Google Play Store with a 4.1 rating and over 1,300 reviews. And it has over 4,700 reviews in the Apple App Store with an average 4.3 rating.

Is It Worth It?

Like other cashback platforms, TopCashback has one major drawback — you have to spend money to “save” money. If using TopCashback tempts you to shop more frequently and overspend, it ultimately won’t help your budget. But, like rewards credit cards, if you only use cash-back sites to shop for things that are already in your budget, they can definitely help you save.

Ultimately, TopCashBack is one of the top platforms out there, due to the number of available retail partners and payment options, and the lack of a payout threshold. If you think using a cash back website is right for you, put TopCashBack near the top of your list.
