Udall Undergraduate Scholarship Opening Soon
Offered by Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation
About This Scholarship
The Udall Undergraduate Scholarship is a federally chartered award honoring the legacies of Congressman Morris Udall and Interior Secretary Stewart Udall. The Udall Foundation anticipates awarding up to 65 scholarships of $7,500 each to college sophomores and juniors who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to the environment, or — for Native American and Alaska Native students — to Tribal public policy or Native health care.
The environment category is intentionally broad, covering policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning, business, health, justice, and economics. Beyond the money, Udall Scholars attend an orientation in Tucson, Arizona, where they connect with a network of policymakers, scientists, and fellow scholars that many alumni describe as the award's most valuable benefit.
One wrinkle: this is a nominated award. Students apply through their college or university's Udall faculty representative, who registers them for the Foundation's online application, and campuses may run internal deadlines earlier than the national one. The application typically becomes available in mid-October with a national deadline in early March.
Eligibility

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I apply for the Udall Scholarship on my own?
Not directly — only your school's Udall faculty representative can register you for the online application. If your school doesn't have a representative, contact the Udall Foundation about designating one.
