About This Scholarship
The Texas Library and Archives Foundation funds the next generation of Texas librarians through two named awards: the Martha Wong Scholarship and the Gloria Meraz-Mark Smith Scholarship. Each is a $5,000 grant supporting coursework in the semester beginning January 2027.
The awards target students in Texas library and information science graduate programs or school librarian certification programs. Applicants must either live in Texas or work at a Texas library, which makes the scholarships a natural fit for working library staff pursuing the credentials needed to advance — funds may be applied to tuition or required textbooks.

Eligibility
- Reside in Texas or be employed at a Texas library
- Pursuing a degree from a Texas library/information science graduate program or a school librarian certification program
