Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship
Offered by Digital Responsibility
About This Scholarship
Digital Responsibility, a nonprofit founded by Silicon Valley tech employees, runs a slate of four $1,000 scholarships on the theme of technology's personal and public consequences. The Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship asks students to reckon with the negative effects of too much screen time — a topic most applicants know uncomfortably well.
Eligibility is among the widest anywhere: high school freshmen through seniors, current and entering college and graduate students at any level, and homeschooled students all qualify, with no age limit. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal residents. The program follows Digital Responsibility's signature two-stage format: a short written statement up front, with the strongest entrants asked to complete a longer essay as finalists.
At $1,000 the award won't move a tuition bill by itself, but as part of the sponsor's rotating four-scholarship calendar (its sibling deadlines land in April and June 2027) it works as a low-lift, always-open pipeline: a student can realistically apply to two or three Digital Responsibility awards in the same academic year with modest additional effort.
