Tri-County Electric Cooperative Scholarship Program (Texas)
Offered by Tri-County Electric Cooperative (Texas)
About This Scholarship
Tri-County Electric Cooperative is one of the largest electric cooperatives in Texas, serving the fast-growing counties northwest of Fort Worth. Its annual scholarship program is among the biggest dollar commitments in the cooperative world: $200,000 awarded each cycle as forty $5,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors from member households.
Forty awards is an unusually deep field. Where most co-op programs pick a handful of winners, TCEC's scale means a strong local applicant faces far better odds than in statewide or national competitions paying similar amounts — and $5,000 covers a real share of first-year costs at a Texas public university or trade program.
Eligibility runs through the cooperative: applicants must be high school seniors graduating in 2027 who live with a parent or legal guardian who is a TCEC member, and immediate family of the cooperative's leadership are excluded. Recommendation letters must come directly from the writer, emailed to the cooperative rather than submitted by the student.
