About This Scholarship
Stantec, the global design and engineering firm, awards $200,000 in scholarships each year to students in STEAM fields — science, technology, engineering, arts and architecture, and mathematics, including education majors who plan to teach STEM. Individual awards range from $1,500 to $10,000, sized to the need each applicant describes, and up to 10 paid internships with Stantec teams are offered alongside the scholarship money.

The 2025 cycle funded 46 students across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Australia, and New Zealand, in majors ranging from engineering and cybersecurity to biology, music, and medicine. Both bachelor's degree and technical or vocational program students qualify, at any accredited two- or four-year institution attended full time.
Selection weighs educational goals and academic potential, community service and leadership through extracurriculars, and the personal statement. Awards are not automatically renewable, but recipients can reapply every year they remain eligible. Winners are notified in mid-November, with funds sent directly to institutions the following summer.
Eligibility
- Enrolled in a college, university, or post-secondary institution for the 2027-28 academic year, pursuing a bachelor's or technical/vocational degree full time
- Majoring in a STEAM field (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics — including education majors planning to teach STEM)
- Demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to positive impact, or perseverance in overcoming barriers to education
- Open internationally — recent recipients came from the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Australia, and New Zealand
