NFMC Lana M. Bailey Piano Concerto Award
Offered by National Federation of Music Clubs
About This Scholarship
The Lana M. Bailey Piano Concerto Award is a National Federation of Music Clubs prize for graduating high school pianists, awarding $1,500 for first place and $500 for second to seniors who perform a piano concerto movement. It is one of the few national awards built around concerto repertoire at the high school level.
The May 1 deadline falls after most NFMC Junior Division awards close in March, giving seniors a late-spring opportunity after college decisions are made. Entry is by recorded audition through NFMC's judging network, so no travel is required.
Applicants must be under 19 as of May 1 and hold NFMC junior membership through a federated teacher, junior club, or individual membership. The requirements form on the NFMC Junior Division page covers approved repertoire and recording rules.
