About This Scholarship

The MGA Caddie Scholarship Fund, formerly the Westchester Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund, is one of the largest caddie scholarship organizations in the country. It supports an average of 250 scholars a year with a combined $1 million annual tuition commitment, which works out to roughly $4,000 per scholar, awarded strictly on financial need.

The Fund serves young people who work in service to golf at participating member clubs across nine counties: Fairfield County in Connecticut plus Bronx, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester counties in New York. Applicants need at least two seasons of service, most commonly as caddies, and must be graduating high school seniors or current college students. Club members, children of members, and graduate students are not eligible.

Applications for the 2027-28 academic year open in September, with completed applications due May 15. The process includes FAFSA documentation, tax returns, transcripts, test scores, and a phone interview with a program representative.

Eligibility

  • At least two seasons of service to golf (typically caddying) at a participating MGA member club in Westchester, Bronx, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, or Ulster County, NY, or Fairfield County, CT
  • Graduating high school senior or current college student (graduate students not eligible)
  • Demonstrated financial need documented through the FAFSA, tax returns, and financial aid statements
  • Not a club member or the child of a club member

How To Apply

Why Trust The College Investor

The College Investor has helped millions of readers navigate paying for college and student loans since 2009. Every scholarship in our database is individually reviewed by our team before it goes live, and re-checked regularly so deadlines and links stay current.

Our Scholarship Standards

A listing here means our team checked that the award is real, currently active, and actually pays out. We won't list a scholarship that:

  • Charges any kind of fee to apply
  • Makes you join a paid membership, or sign up for an app or service, just to be eligible
  • Has a privacy policy that would let the sponsor sell or misuse your information
  • Collects essays, ideas, or contact details mainly to feed the sponsor's marketing
  • Can't show a winner from the past 12 months, or offers no way to reach the sponsor

One nuance: established companies and nonprofits that run applications through their own systems may still be listed, even though creating an account there is part of applying.
