Kids' Chance of Maryland Scholarship

About This Scholarship
Kids' Chance of Maryland provides need-based college scholarships to young people whose parent or guardian suffered a catastrophic or fatal workplace injury or occupational disease while working for a Maryland employer. It is the Maryland affiliate of the national Kids' Chance network, which exists to keep education on track for families upended by workers' compensation losses.
Unlike fixed-amount awards, Kids' Chance of Maryland sizes each scholarship to the student's actual financial need and educational expenses. Awards cover tuition and books, and may also extend to housing and meals. Students may reapply for every year in which they remain eligible, making the support effectively renewable throughout an undergraduate program.
Applications are accepted year-round on a rolling basis, with priority deadlines of July 1 for fall awards and November 30 for spring awards. Applicants complete the KCMD scholarship application plus a Financial Aid Report (FAR) documenting need.
