About This Scholarship
The Indiana State Fraternal Order of Police awards scholarships every year to the children and stepchildren of its active members, presented at the FOP State Conference. Awards are distributed across the state's five districts — Northwest, Northeast, Central, Southwest, and Southeast — with each district receiving scholarships equal to 10% of its active membership, up to a maximum of twenty per district.
Eligibility is family-based: applicants must be an immediate relative (son, daughter, stepson, or stepdaughter) of an active Indiana FOP member, and applications must be submitted before the applicant's 22nd birthday. The award can be used at any accredited secondary education program, explicitly including online education and technical schools. A single student can win up to three times, though repeat winners in consecutive years are only funded if their district has application slots left over.
The application is paper-based: a completed form, a transcript showing GPA on a 3.0 or 4.0 scale, a copy of SAT or PSAT scores, and a typewritten essay of at least 250 words covering scholastic accomplishments, extracurricular involvement, and education and career plans. Applications for the 2027 program must be mailed and postmarked by March 1, 2027.

How many scholarships does the Indiana FOP award?
