About This Scholarship
The Georgia Transplant Foundation has supported Georgia's transplant community for more than three decades, and its academic scholarship program recognizes how profoundly transplantation reshapes education plans — for recipients themselves and for the families around them. Awards of $1,000 are renewable for up to four years for students who maintain grade requirements, providing up to $4,000 toward a post-secondary education.
Eligibility is notably broad within the transplant community: Georgia residents who are organ transplant recipients, dependents or parents of recipients, living donors, or siblings of recipients (where both are 22 or younger) may apply for post-secondary study.
The application asks for a personal statement of up to three pages describing how transplantation has affected the applicant's life, along with transcripts, a college acceptance letter, and two letters of recommendation. Materials can be submitted online or by mail and must be postmarked by the annual May 1 deadline.

Do I have to be a transplant recipient myself?
