Elks National Foundation Legacy Awards Opening Soon
Offered by Elks National Foundation
About This Scholarship
The Elks National Foundation's Legacy Awards send $4,000 scholarships to hundreds of high school seniors who are children, grandchildren, step-children, step-grandchildren, or legal wards of living Elks members. For the 2027 contest, the Foundation is allocating 251 awards across the states plus another 149 at-large awards for the highest-scoring applicants nationally — 400 scholarships in total.
The application for the 2027 Legacy Awards opens September 1, 2026 and closes February 1, 2027 at 11:59 a.m. Pacific Time, with winners announced in late April. The sponsoring Elk must have joined the order on or before April 1, 2024, and the Foundation has waived the standardized test score requirement for the 2027 contest.
Backed by one of the country's largest fraternal charitable foundations — the Elks National Foundation distributes millions in scholarships every year — the Legacy Awards are among the more accessible family-affiliation scholarships, with far better odds than open national competitions.
