About This Scholarship
The Doyon Foundation is the education arm of Doyon, Limited, the Alaska Native regional corporation for Interior Alaska and one of the largest private landowners in North America. The foundation funds Doyon shareholders and their descendants through college, graduate school, and career and technical programs with four award categories: competitive awards, full-time and part-time awards, high school awards, and career and technical awards.
Degree-seeking students apply by three annual deadlines tied to the semester they need funding: May 15 for fall, November 15 for spring, and March 15 for summer. High school awards are accepted and awarded year-round. Because students reapply each semester, the foundation functions as an ongoing funding partner, with lifetime limits of $25,000 for undergraduates, $36,000 for master's students, and $49,000 for doctoral students.
Eligibility runs on shareholder lineage rather than residence, so descendants living anywhere in the United States can apply as long as they are accepted at an accredited institution and hold the minimum GPA for their level: 2.0 for undergraduates, 3.0 for graduate students, and 3.25 for specialist and doctoral students.
