About This Scholarship
Daughters of the Cincinnati, a New York society founded in 1894, runs one of the longest-standing scholarships for military daughters in the country — and one of the more generous, at up to $20,000 distributed over four years of undergraduate study, up to $5,000 a year.
The program is tightly defined: applicants must be high school seniors and the daughters of career commissioned officers in the United States Armed Forces — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Space Force. The officer parent may be on active duty, retired with at least 20 years of service, or deceased. That career-officer requirement sets this apart from broader dependent scholarships and keeps the applicant pool small relative to the award size.
The 2027 application opens November 1, 2026, and applications are due by March 1 of the student's senior year. For a daughter of a career officer heading to college in fall 2027, this is a four-year renewable award worth building the scholarship calendar around.
