About This Scholarship

Greeting card publisher Prudent Publishing — in business since 1929 — awards a $10,000 scholarship each year for the best original greeting card design submitted by a student, through its Gallery Collection brand. The winner's school also receives a $1,000 prize, and the winning design is actually produced as a real card in the Gallery Collection line. The 2026-27 contest is the 20th annual running.

Entry is a single JPEG upload (15 MB max): original artwork, photography, digital art, painting, or mixed media suitable for the front of a Christmas, holiday, birthday, or all-occasion card. Anyone 14 or older enrolled in high school, college, university, or homeschool can enter, and entrants must own the rights to their design so they can transfer commercial rights if selected.

Selection blends public voting with judging: judges post batches of designs on the site for monthly public voting, and the finalist group is drawn from top vote-getters plus judges' picks, with the judging panel choosing the ultimate winner. The current cycle accepts entries from July 8, 2026 through March 8, 2027, with the winner announced on or about May 14, 2027.

Eligibility

• At least 14 years old
• Enrolled in high school, college, university, or homeschool
• Submission must be your own original artwork or photography
• Winner must be able to grant commercial rights to the winning design

• Create an original greeting card cover design (artwork or photo) and save it as a JPEG under 15 MB
• Upload it with the entry form at gallerycollection.com before the March 8, 2027 deadline
• Finalists are selected and then decided by public voting, with the winner announced in mid-May
