About This Scholarship
The Courage to Grow Scholarship is a small, straightforward $1,000 award designed to take some of the sting out of college costs without a marathon application. The entire pitch is simplicity: no lengthy forms, no recommendation packets, and no application fee, just a short written case for yourself.
Eligibility is broad. High school juniors and seniors as well as current college students can apply, provided they are U.S. citizens with a GPA of 2.5 or better. The heart of the application is a single essay of 250 words or less explaining why you believe you should be awarded the scholarship, so a tight, genuine answer matters more than a resume full of activities.
The application is open now, with the current deadline falling on September 30, 2026. Winners are announced on the scholarship's website, which also lists past recipients by name.
