Cochlear Anders Tjellström Scholarship

About This Scholarship

Named for the surgeon who pioneered bone-anchored hearing solutions, the Cochlear Anders Tjellström Scholarship supports students who hear with a Cochlear Baha or Osia bone-conduction system. Like its companion Graeme Clark award, it pays $2,000 per year for up to four consecutive years of academic study — up to $8,000 in total — with a vocational track worth $2,000 per year for up to two years.

Cochlear Americas grants at least six academic and one vocational scholarship annually across its scholarship programs, selecting recipients for academic performance and demonstrated commitment to the Cochlear ideals of leadership and humanity. The academic track requires a 3.0 unweighted GPA.

The application opens each spring and closes September 30, and winners are announced by the end of January. U.S. and Canadian citizens who have graduated high school and been accepted to an accredited college, university, or vocational program may apply once in their lifetime.

Eligibility

• Must be a Cochlear Baha or Osia bone-conduction system recipient
• U.S. or Canadian citizen
• High school graduate accepted to or enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution
• Minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA for the academic scholarship (vocational track available)
• May receive the scholarship only one time; Cochlear employees and their families are ineligible

How To Apply

• Apply online through the Cochlear Americas scholarship page during the application window (opens around March 31 each year)
• Submit transcripts, proof of acceptance or enrollment, and the required written responses
• Submit by 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time on September 30; winners are notified by January 31
