AVMF Student Scholarships Opening Soon
Offered by American Veterinary Medical Foundation
About This Scholarship
The American Veterinary Medical Foundation — the charitable arm of the American Veterinary Medical Association — runs a consolidated scholarship portal that opens each fall for veterinary and veterinary technician students. One registration on the portal gives access to the season's full slate of awards.
The lineup includes the AVMA/AVMF Scholarship for Veterans (five awards of $9,000 for military veterans in years one through three of veterinary school), fifteen $2,500 Dechra Veterinary Products scholarships for clinical-year DVM students plus five $2,000 awards for vet tech students, Merck Animal Health scholarships of $5,000 for DVM students and $2,000 for technician students, the $1,000 Durvet Future Food Animal Veterinarian Scholarship, and regional funds like the Harold Wetterberg Foundation Scholarship, which pays $5,000 to $15,000 to applicants with New Jersey ties.
Most fall-cycle applications open September 1 and close September 30, with review in October; a smaller spring cycle runs in November.
