ASPRS Geospatial Science Research Grant
Offered by ASPRS (American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing) and the ASPRS Foundation
About This Scholarship
ASPRS, the imaging and geospatial information society, added a $25,000 Geospatial Science Research Grant to its student awards program for the 2027 cycle. It funds a graduate student's research in the geospatial sciences, such as remote sensing, photogrammetry, lidar, and GIS. The grant covers one year, though applicants may submit a two-year budget, with the second year depending on how the first year goes.
The grant is open to ASPRS student members working toward a master's or PhD in the geospatial sciences. ASPRS gives preference to PhD students and to students who plan teaching careers. The award is finalized with the winner's institution by March 30, 2027, and funding starts April 1, 2027.
This grant has a later deadline than ASPRS's regular student scholarships, whose 2027 window closes in late October 2026. All 2027 winners are honored at the ASPRS Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City in February 2027.
