Alltricity Scholarship Foundation Scholarships
Offered by Alltricity Scholarship Foundation (Alltricity Network, formerly RMEL)
About This Scholarship
The Alltricity Scholarship Foundation is the charitable arm of Alltricity Network, the Colorado-based electric utility trade association formerly known as RMEL. Since 1999 it has awarded close to 800 scholarships worth more than $1.75 million to students preparing for careers in the electric power industry.
The foundation funds a wide range of paths into the industry, from engineering, business, and information systems degrees to lineworker, plant operations, distribution technology, and renewable energy certificate programs. General scholarships range from $1,500 to $3,000 or more, and Named Scholarship Program awards of $3,000 or more are funded by individual and corporate donors, often utilities and engineering firms.
A committee of foundation board directors chooses recipients based on goals in the electric utility industry, motivation, community and school service, and academic performance. There are three separate applications (high school seniors, current four-year college students, and craft or certificate students), so picking the right one matters.
Eligibility
- Current high school senior, high school graduate, or college freshman, sophomore, or junior
- Pursuing or planning to pursue an undergraduate degree aimed at an electric utility career, or an industry-related certificate program such as lineworker or renewable energy training
- Permanent U.S. resident
- Not receiving more than 75% tuition reimbursement from an employer
How To Apply
- Decide which of the three applications fits you: high school senior (four-year degree), current four-year college student, or craft/certificate program student
- Contact Kathryn Hail at [email protected] if you are unsure which application to use
- Complete the chosen online application in its entirety, describing your goals in the electric utility industry, service, and academics
- Submit by January 31, 2027; recipients are notified in May 2027
Frequently Asked Questions
Can lineworker or trade program students apply?
Yes. The foundation has a dedicated Craft/Certificate Program application for lineworker, plant operations, and other electric utility training programs.
I'm at a two-year college and plan to transfer. Which application do I use?
Do not use the craft/certificate application. That one is only for certificate and craft programs, so contact the foundation to confirm the right application for transfer-track students.
When is the money paid?
Funds are sent to the recipient's college or university in June and July 2027 for the 2027-2028 school year.
