About This Scholarship
The TMCF MolsonCoors Scholarship awards up to $8,200 each to six students for the 2027-2028 academic year, making it one of the more substantial single-payment awards in the Thurgood Marshall College Fund portfolio. The award is disbursed in one payment during the fall 2027 semester and applied to tuition and fees.
The program is open to full-time undergraduates — freshman through senior — in any major at TMCF member schools, the network of 57 publicly supported HBCUs, historically Black community colleges, predominantly Black institutions, and affiliated medical and law schools. Applicants need a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, must have the 2027-2028 FAFSA on file, and must demonstrate financial need.
Instead of a written essay, applicants submit a two-minute video describing how they plan to use their education to change the world, including specific actions and community service plans. With only six awards nationally, the video is where an application is won or lost.
