Schwarzman Scholars
Offered by Schwarzman Scholars / Tsinghua University
About This Scholarship
Schwarzman Scholars is a fully funded one-year master's degree in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing, created to build a network of future leaders who understand China's role in the world. Scholars live and study together at Schwarzman College, a purpose-built residential campus, and the program combines coursework with travel seminars, mentoring, and direct exposure to Chinese business and government leaders.
The scholarship covers the full cost of the program — tuition, room and board at Schwarzman College, travel to and from Beijing, an in-country study tour, health insurance, and a personal stipend — so scholars pay nothing to attend.
Selection emphasizes leadership ability, exemplary character and integrity, and empathy and intercultural competency. The application includes essays, a resume, transcripts, recommendations, and a one-minute video, followed by regional interviews in late October and early November. Candidates apply directly; no university nomination is needed, and college seniors are eligible alongside early-career professionals.
