P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education
Offered by P.E.O. International
About This Scholarship
P.E.O. International, a philanthropic educational organization founded in 1869, has helped women pursue education for more than 150 years. Its Program for Continuing Education (PCE) provides need-based grants of up to $4,000 to women in the United States and Canada whose education was interrupted and who now find it necessary to return to school to complete a degree or certification that improves their ability to support themselves and their families.
Unlike a typical scholarship with a national deadline, PCE grants are processed on a continuous basis throughout the year. The catch — and the key step for applicants — is that every application must be sponsored by a local P.E.O. chapter. Women who are not connected to a chapter can reach out through P.E.O. International to be put in touch with one in their area; chapter members then work with the applicant to complete and submit the grant application ahead of her school term.
Because this is a one-time need-based grant rather than a renewable award, timing the application to a specific educational expense matters.
