About This Scholarship
The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation, based in Chicago, is one of the largest scholarship providers for Greek American students in the United States. Each year it distributes $250,000 to undergraduates of Hellenic descent: 20 awards of $10,000 based on academic achievement, financial need, and Hellenic values (with elevated awards of up to $20,000 available for music and arts students), plus 20 merit-based awards of $2,500.
Unlike many heritage organizations' programs, no membership in any fraternal or cultural organization is required — eligibility rests on Hellenic descent, U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, and academic performance. Applicants must be enrolled sophomores, juniors, or seniors at an accredited U.S. college or university with a minimum 3.6 cumulative GPA.
The foundation's application collects transcripts, recommendations, and personal statements, and winners are celebrated at an annual awards ceremony and gala in Chicago each June. The 2026-2027 application cycle opens October 1, 2026 with a deadline of January 31, 2027.
