About This Scholarship

The Fashion Scholarship Fund runs one of the largest industry-specific scholarship programs in the country, and its Case Study Scholarship is the centerpiece. Instead of a traditional essay, students complete an in-depth case study built around a real issue facing the fashion industry, with topics that change every year. Awards start at $10,000, and winners also join the FSF Scholar community, which brings mentoring, internship pipelines, and industry networking on top of the money.

The competition is open to full-time sophomores, juniors, and seniors at four-year U.S. colleges and universities, including international students on F-1 visas. You do not have to attend one of FSF's member schools to compete, though applicants coordinate access through an FSF Educator Partner on their campus, who provides login details for the application portal. FSF also gives entrants access to FSF University, a prep resource for building a stronger submission.

Because the case study rewards analysis rather than pedigree, this scholarship suits students in merchandising, design, marketing, supply chain, analytics, and business programs who can connect their skills to the fashion industry. Plan for real project work: this is closer to a business-plan competition than a one-evening essay.

Why Trust The College Investor

The College Investor has helped millions of readers navigate paying for college and student loans since 2009. Every scholarship in our database is individually reviewed by our team before it goes live, and re-checked regularly so deadlines and links stay current.

Our Scholarship Standards

A listing here means our team checked that the award is real, currently active, and actually pays out. We won't list a scholarship that:

  • Charges any kind of fee to apply
  • Makes you join a paid membership, or sign up for an app or service, just to be eligible
  • Has a privacy policy that would let the sponsor sell or misuse your information
  • Collects essays, ideas, or contact details mainly to feed the sponsor's marketing
  • Can't show a winner from the past 12 months, or offers no way to reach the sponsor

One nuance: established companies and nonprofits that run applications through their own systems may still be listed, even though creating an account there is part of applying.
