Enid Hall Griswold Memorial Scholarship Opening Soon
Offered by National Society Daughters of the American Revolution
About This Scholarship
The Enid Hall Griswold Memorial Scholarship is a National Society Daughters of the American Revolution award for students already deep into their college careers: it goes to two college juniors or seniors majoring in political science, history, government, or economics at an accredited U.S. college or university. Each recipient receives a one-time award of $5,000.
Because it targets upperclassmen in civics-adjacent majors, the Griswold fills a gap in a scholarship landscape that skews heavily toward high school seniors — a junior or senior polishing a strong transcript in one of the qualifying majors faces a much smaller applicant pool than in freshman-focused competitions.
DAR affiliation is not required to win, though applicants obtain a letter of sponsorship from a local DAR chapter as part of the packet. Applications run through DAR's scholarship portal, which opens November 1 and closes January 31 at 11:59 p.m. Hawaii time each cycle.
