Earlier this year, I asked if you still used checks. There were a lot of interesting responses, especially when it came to specific situations when you need to you checks. But what about paying with cash – cold hard dollar bills? I think over the course of the last month, I've had a total of about $14 in cash on me, and I used about $3 just to reimburse a friend for a coffee.
Over the last few years, I've found myself using cash less and less. I typically pay for everything on my credit cards, and just pay the balance off in full each month. I do this to maximize my credit card rewards. And I find that most retailers accept credit cards, even mom and pop shops. And if I shop online, I use PayPal, or could use one of the many alternatives to PayPal if I wanted.
So, do you still pay with cash? Have you been using less of it lately?
