An expensive car repair bill can be both financially and emotionally stressful. That's why the idea of obtaining an extended car warranty can sometimes sound so appealing.
Unlike auto insurance, which kicks in after you've had an accident and can cover up to the full value of your vehicle, extended car warranties only cover repairs when your car breaks down.
Many extended car warranty companies have built notorious reputations for charging high prices and having lots of fine print. For this reason, many financial experts recommend that car owners build up an emergency fund instead that can be used when car repairs are needed.
But Uproar.car is one company that's trying to change the value proposition of buying an extended car warrant. It says that it's"transforming the traditional extended car warranty marketplace through technology and transparency."
Are its advantages significant enough to make purchasing an extended warranty for your car a worthwhile financial decision? Let’s dive in to see how Uproar.car works and if it could be the right option for you.

What Is Uproar.car?
Uproar.car launched in 2018 to provide extended warranties for cars. The company has worked to provide affordable car protection in a conveniently digital format. Consumers can use the month-to-month subscription model to cover expensive car repairs that would otherwise come out of pocket.
Alejandro Cabrera, the founder of Uproar.car, said in a press release, “We envisioned creating worry-free car ownership for everyone and are proud to launch Vehicle Repair Protection plans that are easy, straight-forward, online and mobile. We believe this type of transparent, empowering solution is exactly what today’s consumer demands.”
What Does It Offer?
Curious about Uproar.car? Here’s what the company has to offer.
Flexible Extended Warranty Coverage
Uproar.car prides itself on creating an affordable extended warranty product for its customers. Unlike with other warranty companies, there are no upfront costs to purchase a plan from Uproar.car. Instead, you'll pay a monthly subscription fee and you'll have the ability to cancel your plan at any time without penalty.

Depending on your vehicle and needs, you can choose between a low-mileage or high-mileage plan with either a ‘Good’ or ‘Great’ package. Uproar considers vehicles with less than 80,000 miles low mileage. But vehicles with between 80,000 to 120,000 miles are regarded as high mileage.
Regardless of which package you choose, there's no annual claim limit. Here’s what coverage comes with the different options:

Tire & Wheel Protection
In addition to the extended auto warranties, you can buy tire and wheel protection. These plans start at $10.09 per month for a ‘Good’ plan and $11.84 per month for a ‘Great’ plan.
The two plans are very similar. The major difference is that cosmetic damage is not covered with the ‘Good’ plan.
Easy To Work With
The first step you take with Uproar.car is easy. You can complete the entire sign up process online. Not only is it easy, but the pricing is also very affordable compared to its competitors.
When you work with Uproar.car, you can take your car to any repair shop when you need to. After you pay your deductible, Uproar.car will take care of the repair bills directly. You’ll just need to file a claim.
Membership Perks
Uproar plans come with extra coverage for added peace of mind. For example, on most plans the cost of a rental car will be covered while your car is in the shop. Plus, Uproar.car will cover the costs of meals and lodging if your car breaks down more than 100 miles away from home.
Members also receive 24/7 Roadside Assistance. And Uproar.car provides an Auto Concierge to find a repair shop, schedule appointments, and help you navigate the logistics of a repair.

Not All Vehicles Covered
Uproar.car is currently unavailable in Alaska, California, Florida, Missouri, and Nebraska.
Additionally, the company will not work with all cars. The car cannot have more than 120,000 miles or be more than 10 years old. Uproar.car will not work with certain luxury vehicles. Additionally, some components of electric and hybrid cars aren’t covered.
If you’ve made aftermarket alterations to the vehicle, these are not covered. If you use the car for commercial purposes, like Uber or food delivery, Uproar will not provide coverage. Finally, if your car has a pre-existing condition, then those cannot be covered with Uproar.
Are There Any Other Fees?
In addition to your monthly cost, you’ll have to pay a deductible when your car runs into an issue.
For low mileage vehicles, repair plan deductibles are $100. For high mileage vehicles, the deductible is $500 per claim for the first two months and $100 thereafter. Tire & Wheel has a $0 deductible on the first claim and $100 on following claims.
You can save on your deductible if you take the vehicle to a Firestone Complete Auto Care location. Uproar.car will knock $50 off of your deductible if you choose one of these shops.
How Does Uproar.car Compare?
Uproar.car is one of many extended car warranty companies out there. But most of these third-party providers use a different model. They charge a fixed amount that is either paid entirely up front (often added to a car loan) or car owners sign a contract promising to pay for the warranty over a certain number of months.
These traditional extended car warranties cost an average of $2,550 based on Motor 1’s research, but can range from $1,000 to $4,500. With Uproar.car's subscription model, you don't sign any long-term contract and can cancel at any time.
It should be noted that, eventually, your cumulative monthly costs will likely exceed what you would have paid up front for a traditional plan. But in the meantime, you'll have a lot more flexibility. We ran a couple of tests of Uproar.car and here were the prices that we were quoted.
- A plan for a 2018 Jeep Wrangler with 40,000 miles would cost $49.86 per month
- A plan for a 2018 Honda Civic with 40,000 miles would cost $31.88 per month
Uproar, even over time, is still less expensive than traditional warranties that amount to about $3k and are bound to 3-5 years of coverage. For example, 4 years of Uproar warranty at $49.86 per month would amount to around $2,400.
CarShield also offers subscription-based extended car warranties. However, it advertises prices as low as $99 per month, which is considerably higher than the quotes I received from Uproar.car.
How Do I Get A Quote?
If you want to set up an auto warranty with Uproar.car, the first thing to do is get a quote here. You’ll need to have information about your car ready -- including the make, year, model, and mileage. From there, you can choose add-on protection for your tires and wheels. Take the time to explore what is and isn't covered before moving forward with your plan.
Is It Safe And Secure?
Uproar.car says that its backed by an A rated auto insurance company that has been in business for over 20 years, has insured over 2 million vehicles, and has paid over $100 million in claims. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the name of that company listed anywhere on Uproar.car's site.
Based on their Terms and Conditions, Uproar.car has an unspecified security procedure in place to protect your personal information. But as with any company that stores sensitive customer data, it can't guarantee that its servers will be completely secure against all external threats.
How Do I Contact Uproar.car?
If you need to reach out to Uproar.car, you can email them at customercare@Uproar.car. Or you can give them a call at 833-500-2345. Additionally, you can reach out on Facebook or Instagram @Uproar.car.
The company has earned an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. Uproar.car has also earned 4.9 out of 5 stars on Consumer Affairs from 160+ ratings.
Is It Worth It?
Uproar.car could be a good option for car owners that are still working on building their emergency funds and are worried about facing a big repair bill in the meantime. In these cases, the monthly cost might be worth the peace of mind. Plus, you'll have the ability to cancel at any time once you feel that you're in a better financial position.
But if you already have several months of expenses saved, an Uproar.car protection plan may be an unnecessary additional monthly expense. Ultimately, the choice to work with Uproar.car or not will come down to your individual financial situation, risk tolerance, and the comfort level you have with your vehicle.
