It’s that time of year, where much of America goes into a frenzy over the NCAA basketball tournaments and March Madness is now in full blown swing.
Whether you will be cheering on your alma-mater or the local university, it is time to make your brackets for the NCAA tournament.
Here are some ideas to celebrate March Madness on the cheap.
Search and Save on Tickets
Wanting to see the action up close and in person? Start scouting out tickets as soon as possible.
There are tons of online ticket brokers selling March Madness tickets. Start searching early and price compare. Do be sure to verify the site you buy from is legit before spending any money.
Get Decked out for March Madness
No matter if you are at home cheering on your team or are lucky enough to attend some of the tournament you will need some gear to dress the part.
Discover can help you score some great deals on jerseys and shirts so you can look the part while rooting for your school. Discover Deals, Discover’s online shopping platform, can help you earn some extra CashBack on these purchases with:
If you’re going to be ordering March Madness gear you might as well earn CashBack or find a discount for the store you’re shopping!
Putting Together Fun Food and Drink for a Party
Getting together with friends and family is undoubtedly one of the best parts about March Madness. One option is to bring everyone together with a ball themed party.
To make this budget friendly and fun serve inexpensive round shaped dishes like pizza, cheese balls, and meatballs. Request everyone pitch in or bring their own drinks.
If you’re budget is too constrained to provide all the food then host a potluck where each guest brings his or her own dish. And don’t forget to make basketball shaped cakes or cupcakes.
To make this even more festive you can send out game brackets to each person who’ll be attending the party.
Run a Cheap March Madness Pool
If you want to get in on the March Madness action but don’t want to lose all of your money then run a super cheap March Madness pool or get in on the one at work.
Fill out your bracket online and have everyone toss in $5. The more people you have join in the higher the prize will be.
You could also do this at your own March Madness party and have the pot split between the host and the winner.
Keep it Simple
You don’t have to spend a lot of money to celebrate March Madness. Really, you don’t have to spend any money at all.
At the very least getting decked out in your favorite team colors and watching the games with your friends is good enough.
Our local team is San Diego State University, so we love rooting for the local team! But since they lost to Duke on Sunday, we’re going with Duke all the way.
How do you celebrate March Madness and who are you rooting for?
