Kentucky Loan Forgiveness Programs
Program: Kentucky State Loan Repayment Program
- Amount: Up to $17,500 per year, for 2 years (with funds matched by the federal government)
- Description: The Kentucky State Loan Repayment Program (KSLRP) is a 50/50 matching program that provides loan repayment for qualified educational loans incurred by primary care health professionals. In return, the professionals make a two-year commitment to practice full-time for an eligible sponsoring organization in a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA).
§ Be a US Citizen
§ Hold a valid license to practice in Kentucky
§ Have verifiable student loans not in default
§ Have no other existing service commitment
§ Have no outstanding contractual obligation to provide medical care
§ Not have been convicted of any felony
§ Not have been convicted of or disciplined by any state Licensing Board or Agency
§ Not have any federal liens
§ Not have a current default on any court-ordered child support payments
§ Be employed by a designated Healthcare Professional Shortage Area site
§ Accept the terms of the agreement
