The College Investor Weekly Round-Up: Thank-You Edition

February 25, 2011

In this week’s round-up, I want to thank the numerous supports I had with My Awful Best Buy Customer Service Experience. Once this article was tweeted and posted around your various sites, I was contacted by Best Buy with a sincere apology and an offer to investigate and make it right. While they can’t share the details of their HR investigation, they assured me it was happening, and they fixed all the price discrepancies and then some. The most interesting part was that this person was in the PR department of Best Buy corporate, and not their customer service. It just goes to show, that at some level in any company, there is someone who can make a situation right.

So first, thank you to: InvestItWisely, FSYAonline, KNSFinancial, maximizingmoney, MyMoney Blog, buckinspire, Darwin’s Money, CentstoSave, MyJourneyToMillions, moneycone, Budgeting in the Fun Stuff, and Couple Money. All you mentioned this post, tweeted, and got the word out!

Also, posts from The College Investor were mentioned across the internet:

- My Awful Best Buy Customer Service Experience was mentioned in the Carnival of Money Stories!

- Can You Make Money With Yahoo Community Sentiment was mentioned in the Carnival of Wealth!

- Sell on Amazon in California? You’d Better Collect Sales Tax was mentioned in the Tax Carnival!

- The Government Pays You To Save was mentioned in the Totally Money Blog Carnival!

Terrific news! Encouraging to see Best Buy take care of their mess. Also nice that they took you seriously, too. Don’t mess with the College Investor! Glad I was a part of it! :)

Yes, I was very surprised and impressed with the final person I dealt with. If that person was there at the beginning (or middle…), it would have never gotten as far as it did.

Happy to hear that this was set right Robert!
