The College Investor Weekly Round-Up – Economy Edition

November 19, 2010

This week, there were a lot of great posts around the web about what is going on with the economy. I decided I should share a few of my favorites.

First, over at Invest it Wisely, there was a guest post by Trace Mayer that looks at the Great Credit Contraction and How to Use Gold as Money. It is a very interesting perspective that looks at how the collapse of credit and derivative markets will drive a further rush into gold.

Over at Financially Poor, Kevin looks at What’s Really Causing the Down Economy? He thinks its fear, which I partially agree with, but there is a great discussion in the comments!

At Yes I Am Cheap, Sandy posted a great story that includes two videos about How Hedge Funds Killed Lehman and Tanked the Economy. If you hated hedge funds to start with, you will certainly hate them more after watching those clips.

Len Penzo recounts How a Lemonade Stand Taught His Daughter to Love Monopolies. Great post, and highlights some great issues in the economy.

Thanks!
