Happy Independence Day! I hope you’re enjoying your holiday by getting some sun, some BBQ, and enjoying a cool beverage.
Even though most places are closed today, a day off from work is a great time to take care of some quick financial tasks that can better your future instantly. Here are some quick money tips to help you get organized and save money for the second half of the year. Get Organized
A day off from work is a great time to get organized, especially if you haven’t sat down and looked at your finances in a while. Don’t let this ruin your day – spend maybe 15 minutes and get your finances situated in one place.
On Monday, I talked about How To Deal With An Unruly Portfolio, but there are other easy ways to get organized. For example, you can check out my Free Online Money Management Tools to find some great tools to organize your financial accounts.
If you are looking to organize your home office, you should look into one of my favorite organizational tools – HomeFile. This great system allows you to easily file and store all the different types of documents you get in your everyday life (from credit card and investing statements, to auto repair bills).
Find Savings
Another quick task to accomplish on your day off is to find some savings or better deals on things you already use. For example, do you think you have the best credit card available right now? If you’re unsure, check out this credit card resource page that has the best cash back credit cards available.
If you already use Mint, you should check out to see what deals they think will be a better savings for you and your current setup.
The bottom line is that you should spend a few minutes today to make sure that your finances are in order for the rest of the year!
