What To Get A Blogger For Christmas

December 21, 2011

Well, it’s almost Christmas, and I’m a procrastinator.  Besides that, I’m hoping my wife is too, and that she will read this list and get me something from it!

Here are some “essentials” that I would love to get for Christmas, and they would probably be great for the blogger in your life as well!

Tech

black ipad2iPad – I would love to get an iPad so that I could do more blogging from the couch.  I don’t know how easy it would be to type full blog posts, but I think it would definitely be funner to read and comment on other blogs with one.  Oh yea, and I want a black one (much more manly…hahha).

Beyond the “productivity”, it would just be fun!

slingboxSlingbox - Have you heard of the Slingbox?  This thing is awesome, and it would make a great compliment to my new iPad!  The Slingbox is a system that plugs into your current cable TV output and to the internet.  Then, you can log into your Slingbox and see your TV signal anywhere – it “slings” it to your computer, tablet, even iPhone.  You can even control your DVR and watch those shows as well!

multiple monitorsA Second Monitor  - Have you seen those multiple monitor setups?  1) I find those to be awesome.  2) I think it would be more productive to be able to spread out multiple windows and not have to always tab back and forth (and I hate tabbed browsing, just annoying).  I like to be able to lay everything out and see it without having to click to different screens or alt+tab my way around.

Reading

I always like to read a few good books a year.  These are the latest titles that have caught my eye, but I haven’t had time to read them yet.

Other

Starbucks - If you know me, you know that I live on Starbucks.  That’s kind of sad for a personal finance blogger, but I like my coffee.  It doesn’t need to be Starbucks, but that is what is convenient everywhere I go in my life for the most part.

keurigKeurig - If I am at home and want coffee, this thing is awesome.  It brews single servings from little cups (K-Cups), and you can get tons of different coffee varieties (including Starbucks, believe it or not).   This would be so nice to brew up a cup in the morning, or for those days that I have to go to work before Starbucks opens (damn you Starbucks and your late Sunday openings…).

A “College Investor” T-Shirt – My wife would never get this for me, so I may have to do it myself, but I thought it would be cool to get a “The College Investor” T-Shirt to sport around.  I could wear it to blogging conventions, bowling alleys, and the like!  There is nothing better than shameless self-promotion in my book!

I hope you like my list!  If any of you have these, and would love to share your stories, post them below (it might make me jealous though)!  If you’re a blogger, what else would you like for Christmas this year?

I would love 2 nice monitors for the home office. :)
We don’t really have room for 2 monitors though.

Great list…but….”funner” is most definitely not a word, dude. Haha. My fiancee wants a Keurig….I fought her on registering for one–but she won out. We’ll see how good they are if any of our guests purchases it for us.

First time here. Lovin’ the site!

I already have an iPad. I think I cold go for the Keurig or the second monitor. haha..

I have a pact and have Lion installed which allows me to toggle between screens to save desktop space but there is nothing like simply glancing over!

Funny first paragraph :)

You’ll have to let us know if your wife used your list!

I can’t really think of anything I want that would be related to blogging, unless it’s a vacation that I do some blogging during :)

I like 2 monitor system. Now I can’t even imagine how to work with one screen.
