But what works for me even more are mantras.
Once I made the mental shift and decided that I am absolutely capable of anything I set my mind to, I was much more motivated to make a plan for the year. And so far execution on the plan is going exceptionally well!
If you make the mental shift and recognize that you, too, are capable of doing anything you set your mind to you’ll be able to move mountains.
Here are three success mantras I use on a daily basis that have helped me to improve not only my productivity, but also my income.
Successful People Do the Stuff that Nobody Else Wants to Do
Successful people do the stuff that nobody else wants to do. That’s why they’re successful.
I picked this up out of a book I recently read and loved. I have used this mantra for only two weeks and can’t even begin to tell you the impact it’s had on me. Just as an example I finished an eBook in one week that I’d been “saying” I was going to write for over a year!
But in all honesty this is a statement that could mean a world of things, so let me tell you what it means to me.
In the work I do there are a ton of tasks that I don’t necessarily feel like doing. There’s also a ton of room for growth and it’s easy for me to say that I don’t have time for that stuff.
So every time that I don’t feel like doing something or I become worried of what others will think, I repeat this mantra.
I now have this quote taped to my laptop screen.
Do It NOW or Don’t Do It At All
We all start out with the best of intentions, right?
You might know you have an important task to do so you tell yourself you’ll do it later. Then later comes and you still don’t feel like doing it.
Last year was kind of like that for me. I had great intentions but I just didn’t get anything significant done.
For the past few months I’ve been living by this principle when it comes to working. I can either do it now or I can accept the fact that I’ll never it do it. The choice is mine.
So I’ve not been procrastinating at all! When something shows up in my inbox I immediately start working on it. When an idea pops in my head, I think it through, and if it aligns with my goals for the year I immediately start working on it.
Please note that this doesn’t mean I’m doing everything – just the important stuff!
Stress is a Choice
Here’s another rule I’ve been living by. You can either choose to let life stress you out or you can roll with the punches.
You can live in overwhelm or you can calm yourself down and start tackling stuff head on. I’d much prefer to tackle stuff head on.
Stress IS a choice. It’s your choice. Which way will you choose?
Do You Have Mantras?
I’ve found these mantras to really help me overcome procrastination and increase my productivity. When I tell myself these things on a repeated basis I not only get more stuff done but I get the important stuff done.
Do you have mantras of your own?
