In the Long Straddle option strategy, you simultaneously purchase both a long call and a long put of the same underlying security. The strike price and expiration date for both purchases should also match. You will make a profit from the price movement.
The amount of profit depends on the quantum of price variation and the purchase premium paid. But if there is no or negligible price movement, your loss will be limited to the premium paid.
